WRITTEN RESPONSES

Sometimes it can be tricky to consider how to expand a response to the minimum of 6 - 8 sentences requested, to meet the Diploma level compliance.

When documenting your responses, please consider:

  1. 1.        That the assessor IS NOT familiar with you, your organisation or your role
  2. 2.       Therefore, it is necessary to include suitable introductions and answers explaining relevance, such as:

1. Overview or introduction of the industry, organisation and/or role

2. The importance or requirements within the context of industry

3. Work place expectations, relating to policy, process or procedure

4. Examples of situations you have experienced, relevant to question

5. Be conscious to avoid industry jargon - include explanations

6. You can also do an introductory sentence, followed by bullet points with short answer responses to demonstrate the explanation

Remember to incorporate the question into your response….this will add length to the sentence amount

REMINDER – written responses, found at the END of the assessment…….

  • Often where there are General Written Explanations/Questions at the END of the Assessment, it can be BEST to do these first.
  • The reason for this, is they often relate to the general context of the assessment and you can utilise your Learner Guide to resource additional evidence.
  • The other tasks often refer to the case study, or your chosen workplace scenario

ATTACHMENTS – QUALITY DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Where attachments are provided, ensure to

  • reference the attachment within the answer EG. T361.1 Formal Meeting Template
  • identify the location and page number within the attachment.
  • label the attachment referencing the task
  • include header with student name, id, course and unit name and number
  • include footer of page number

AUDIO COMPETENCY CONVERSATION

Please discuss this option with your trainer, FIRST.

As you may choose to do the AUDIO with CERTAIN questions throughout the assessment, or the entire unit.

Please ensure to prepare for the interview in the following way:

  1. print out assessment and put on clipboard
  2. write down at least 2-4 key points to discuss at each question,
    1. including recent examples, reference to policies, procedures, legislation  etc.
    2. Note on the document:  TO BE DISCUSSED IN AUDIO ASSESSMENT

  1. include your attachments, labelled, to reference the task number and explained in the assessment.
    1. See below how to EMBED documents below each task

  1. submit your assessment
  2. schedule a suitable time for the interview
  3. allow approximately 20-50 minutes – DEPENDING ON TOPIC OR TASK
  4. additional evidence may be required to be supplied, on completion of the AUDIO assessment.
